Detailing Tips for Pet Owners: Getting Pet Hair Out of Your Car

We love our pets — the hair they leave woven into the seats and carpet, less so. Pet hair is stubborn because it works down into fabric fibers and clings with static, so a regular vacuum pass often just glides over it. Here's how to actually get it out.

What actually works

  • A rubber pet-hair brush or squeegee — dragging it across upholstery balls the hair up so it lifts out.
  • A slightly damp rubber glove works in a pinch; wipe in one direction to gather the hair.
  • Vacuum after loosening the hair, not before — and get into seat seams and crevices where it hides.
  • Work one section and one direction at a time rather than scrubbing back and forth.

Keep it under control

Seat covers or a cargo liner for your pet, plus regular vacuuming, keep hair from building up to the point where it's baked into the fabric. The longer it sits, the deeper it works in.

When to call in help

Heavy or deeply embedded pet hair can take serious time and the right tools to fully remove. It's one of our most-requested interior add-ons for exactly that reason — we'll get it out so the car feels (and smells) fresh again, no shedding session in your own driveway required.

Let us handle it — we come to you.
