Protecting Your Car's Paint from the Florida Sun

Florida sunshine is great for the beach and rough on your car. Constant, intense UV is one of the main reasons vehicles here look tired years before ones up north — and most of that damage is preventable with a little routine care.

What the sun actually does

  • Oxidation: UV breaks down the clear coat, leaving paint looking dull, chalky, or faded.
  • Fading: reds and dark colors lose depth over time under constant exposure.
  • Interior damage: dashboards, trim, and leather dry out, fade, and eventually crack.

How to protect your finish

  • Keep a protective layer on the paint — wax, sealant, or a ceramic coating — and refresh it regularly.
  • Wash off contaminants (pollen, bugs, bird droppings, tree sap) promptly so they don't bond in the heat.
  • Park in shade or a garage when you can, even part of the day.
  • Protect the interior too: a windshield sunshade and a UV protectant on the dash and trim go a long way.

The bottom line

Protection is cheaper than correction. Staying on top of washes and keeping a sealant or coating on the paint prevents the oxidation and fading that are expensive to fix later. A regular detail keeps that protection fresh — and we bring it to you.
